Clinical Laboratory Scientist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at Methodist Hospital Texsan. As a key member of our Laboratory Department, you will be responsible for performing complex medical laboratory tests, analyzing results, and maintaining quality control and quality assurance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specimen processing and testing independently, including moderate and high complexity testing.
- Analyze test results and assume accountability for accuracy.
- Understand, perform, and practice preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot, and take corrective action.
- Understand, perform, and practice quality control management, including running controls, evaluating data, documentation of data, and taking corrective action as required.
- Anticipate and evaluate the need for new methods, instrumentation, and technology in terms of customer need, cost benefit, and revenue generation, and inform management about findings.
- Assure compliance with accrediting agencies and act as a resource to customers within and outside the department.
- Manage assigned projects, including developing a plan, coordinating necessary resources, setting project timelines, keeping Manager informed of progress, and completing project within established time limits.
- Minimum Education and Experience:
- A. High school diploma (or equivalent), with 15 years of clinical lab experience
- B. Associates Degree with minimum 2 years experience in Clinical Lab setting
- C. Bachelor's Degree required with clinical lab experience preferred
- Minimum License and Certificates Required:
- MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT) Certification is waived for those with 5 years of lab experience
