Job Summary

As a District Operations Manager at Vulcan Materials Company, you will be responsible for promoting safety, managing employee relations, maintaining compliance, developing strategy, and managing process improvement for assigned plants.

This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as knowledge of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment. You will work closely with sales and operations teams to drive revenue and market share, and ensure that all assigned plants meet or exceed budget goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote safety and ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee relations, including recruitment, training, development, and retention strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with Vulcan's safety and operations policies and procedures.
  • Develop short and long-term business planning strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • Manage process improvement goals and objectives for assigned plants.

Requirements:

  • 5 years experience in the industry (aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt) with a track record of progressive responsibility and successful operations management.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and maintain interpersonal relationships.
  • Knowledge of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations and equipment, as well as MSHA regulations, engineering principles and procedures, and quality control systems and processes.
