Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our team at our Walnut Creek, CA Patient Care Facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cranial Remolding Orthosis and a strong background in designing and fitting artificial limbs and orthopedic braces.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine and interview patients to determine their appliance needs and identify factors that could affect appliance fit.
  • Fabricate and custom fit artificial limbs and orthopedic braces, including surgical supports and corrective shoes.
  • Instruct patients on the use and care of orthoses and prostheses.
  • Design and modify plaster casts of areas that will be fitted with prostheses or orthoses.
  • Select materials and components for device construction.
  • Confer with physicians to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthopedic and/or prosthetic devices.
  • Repair, rebuild, and modify prosthetic and orthopedic appliances.
  • Train and supervise orthopedic and prosthetic assistants and technicians.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure and/or certification in good standing by governing agency in your field of study.
  • Experience in Cranial Remolding Orthosis.
  • Maintenance of CME's annually in accordance with ABC and BOC guidelines.
  • Practice within your scope of work unless privileged by a supervisor or practitioner of another specialty.
  • Adherence to the guidelines as set forth in the employee handbook of Pacific Medical Inc.
