Job Summary

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse with National Psychiatric Care and Rehabilitation Services, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to administer general medical and psychiatric care, assist in medication administration, and monitor residents for potential medication side effects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule medical treatment for residents, including admission and healthcare referrals.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Administrator, and Psychiatrist to ensure residents' healthcare needs are met.
  • Implement activities related to medication ordering, monitoring, and handling, including Physician's Orders and vital signs.
  • Administer medication and monitor patients for potential side effects.
  • Exercise judgment and skills in recognizing basic symptoms indicative of patient adverse reactions and consult with supervisor and/or alert medical staff.
  • Follow Physician's Orders, monitor patients, and report to the Psychiatrist as needed.
  • Assist in interpreting and applying Physician's Orders.
  • Administer or assist staff in administering triage.
  • Maintain and manage medical and psychiatric records in an organized and timely fashion.
  • Complete documentation, including incident reports and progress notes.
  • Support staff in addressing residents' healthcare concerns.
  • Provide supervision to Mental Health Workers.
  • Participate in required in-service education.
Requirements
  • Valid California Vocational Nursing and/or Psychiatric Technician license.
  • Minimum one year of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting.
  • Clear criminal record review and fingerprint background check.
  • Health screening, including a tuberculosis test, performed by or under the supervision of a physician.
