Job Summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a highly skilled Senior Membrane Treatment Specialist to join our Drinking Water and Reuse Practices. As a Subject Matter Expert in membrane technologies, you will play a key role in growing our practice and leading teams to deliver exceptional service to our municipal and private-sector clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement national technical standards for membrane processes, including process and design guidelines, best practices, tools, and governance.
  • Lead project delivery quality and efficiency by ensuring Subject Matter Specialists engage effectively with project teams and apply consistent technical approaches, risk management, and quality delivery.
  • Support business development and client-facing technical leadership roles with strategic clients, including trusted advisor roles and direct engagement with clients to build relationships, assess needs, and develop technical solutions.
  • Oversee talent development and implementation of Quality Fundamentals and Subject Matter Specialists governance, in partnership with Specialty Leaders responsible for SMS badging and performance.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in a related engineering field (Civil, Environmental, etc.) required; M.S. or Ph.D. degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively increasing responsibility in membrane process planning, design, startup, and optimization for drinking water and reuse applications.
  • PE license or ability to get PE license within 12 months of starting work.
  • Extensive experience in serving clients, collaboration, and building consensus, working with stakeholder groups, sales and marketing, branding, and business growth.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proven success in technical presentation, proposal writing, and public presentations.
