Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our medical clinic, including supervising registered nurses and medical assistants, managing supplies, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Site Medical Director and Operations Director to ensure smooth clinic functioning
  • Supervise and participate in the delivery of direct and telephonic nursing services to patients and families
  • Plan, provide, and document professional nursing care in ambulatory settings
  • Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers
Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork Group Effectiveness
  • Ensure staff deliver high-quality care as determined by CBHC standards
  • Encourage and provide continuing education opportunities for staff
Strategic Leadership
  • Delegate clerical and non-nursing tasks to assistive personnel
  • Supervise daily work of nursing team through direct observation and periodic chart reviews
Performance Management
  • Provide appropriate feedback on performance
Communication
  • Meet weekly with other site leadership and monthly with Lead RNs
  • Document both incoming and outgoing calls as they occur and communicate effectively with other team members
  • Utilize interpreter services for patient communications
  • Attend departmental and all staff meetings
Checking, Examining & Recording
  • Document telecommunications that reflect care specific to the actual or potential health needs of the caller/patient
  • Document and communicate plan of care
  • Complete assessment of symptoms
Planning and Organizing
  • Locate and utilize appropriate resources inside and outside the organization to meet the needs of the caller/patient
  • Schedule patient visits based on acuity of need
  • Develop appropriate staffing schedules for clinic coverage
Integrity
  • Maintain confidentiality in all situations
Compliance, Policy, and Procedure
  • Adhere to nursing protocols and organizational standing orders
Analytical and Critical Thinking
  • Participate in patient appointments as needed for education or treatment of disease
  • Run independent nursing visits with patients for follow-up of chronic illnesses, education, and treatment of disease as needed
  • Assist in triage of patients during walk-in clinic
  • Make accurate assessments/nursing diagnosis as observed by Supervisor and Clinicians
Problem Solving and Decision Making
  • Use assessment to evaluate patient needs and formulate a plan of care, revising outcomes and interventions based on results of evaluation
  • Correlate psychophysiology screening, physical complaints with life status information to screen for somatic complaints associated with the stress of everyday coping
Interpersonal Skills
  • Demonstrate awareness of cultural, ethnic, gender, and racial differences and their potential to impact patient outcomes
Willingness to Learn
  • Request coaching and assistance from preceptors/other experienced staff when needed
  • Maintain membership in professional organizations such as the AAACN
Professionalism
  • Consistently display professionalism in dealing with customers, staff, and clinicians as observed by manager
Teamwork
  • Pitch in to cover shortages within departments
  • Collaborate with nutritionist, clinicians, pharmacy, mental health, addictions, case management, and others in assessing patient's status
  • Implement plan with patient and healthcare team
