Job Summary

A Project Engineer plays a key role in our Commercial Mechanical group, partnering with general contractors, developers, and facility owners to design, fabricate, install, and service HVAC and plumbing systems. This position involves learning preconstruction processes, design and virtual construction, fabrication workflows, field installation, and project turnover.

Main Responsibilities
  • Understand the project lifecycle, including cost elements such as change orders
  • Assist with estimating, scheduling updates, and writing RFIs to integrate cost and schedule impacts
  • Learn, follow, and promote company safety and quality protocols
  • Write and manage RFI's and change orders
Requirements

We are seeking a motivated individual with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Construction Management. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Field Engineering or Field Construction Management is required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving. Familiarity with Mechanical operations and/or other applicable mechanical construction experience is highly valued.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $46-$58 per hour, FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible), along with an annual performance bonus and profit sharing program. Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage is also provided, with JH Kelly paying 87.5% of total premiums.
