Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CDL driver and service technician to join our Loram Technologies team. As a field-based position, you will be responsible for driving various vehicles to transport company equipment and executing safe and efficient bulk fill cycles for friction management customers. Your duties will also include truck maintenance, DOT compliance, and assisting in the service and maintenance of railroad rail lubrication equipment based on customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence and Maintenance:
    • Maintain a well-running truck and trailer, including servicing as needed to ensure optimal performance and safety.
    • Ensure equipment is properly loaded, secured, and protected for transportation to prevent damage and ensure timely delivery.
    • Drive and operate the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Planning and Coordination:
    • Coordinate with the Assistant Manager and FM Planner to develop and implement a monthly fill plan that meets customer requirements and optimizes resource utilization.
    • Determine units requiring filling based on previous fill dates, material usage, and delivery requirements to ensure timely and efficient service.
    • Anticipate material availability and plan time and location of delivery to minimize delays and maximize productivity.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Perform regular DOT inspections and maintain accurate logbooks to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
    • Secure required special permits as needed to transport equipment and materials.
    • Keep a log of all material used to track inventory and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Functional and Technical Skills:
    • Service top of rail and gauge face lubricator units to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
    • Perform lubrication service program for railroad customers to maintain equipment and prevent wear and tear.
    • Utilize problem-solving skills to find effective solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Managing and Measuring Work:
    • Manage inventory on maintenance vehicles through company processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
    • Develop schedules and anticipate problems to meet objectives and ensure timely delivery.
    • Work independently to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Process work orders and complete necessary paperwork through approved processes to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
    • Maintain communication with the Manager and FM Service Technicians to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience: 1+ years in Loram maintenance of way equipment's role, effective communication, technical skills, and 24-hour operations management
  • Licenses/Certifications: All Railroad specific certifications, CDL Driver's License, and DOT Medical Card
