Job Title: Medical Assistant II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at the University of Iowa Community Clinics. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, RN, or other licensed designee, you will function as a member of the patient care team, performing technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting. Your duties will include supporting Family Medicine Clinic patients, performing technical and clerical functions, and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Family Medicine Clinic patients and perform technical and clerical functions as needed.
  • Work under the supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, RN, or other licensed designee.
  • Perform duties in an ambulatory setting, including the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.
Requirements:
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program.
  • Ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards and possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous EPIC experience.
  • Previous phlebotomy experience.
