Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Instructional Specialist to support students with diverse learning needs across K-12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create tailored Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide Individualized Instruction: Offer personalized support and instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring they reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with Educational Teams: Work closely with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly track and assess student progress, making adjustments to strategies as needed.
  • Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Develop and implement behavior management techniques to create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certification: Valid state teaching license in Special Education (K-12).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with disabilities is an asset, but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Special Education Laws and Best Practices: Knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education.
    • Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and educational teams.
    • Adaptability: Capacity to adapt lesson plans and strategies to meet diverse student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Autism and Learning Disabilities: Experience working with students with autism, learning disabilities, or other developmental disabilities.
  • Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in Spanish or American Sign Language (ASL) is an asset.
