Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

At MHMR of Tarrant County, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support services to youth and their families in our MHMRTC services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide peer support services to youth and their families in group and individual settings.
  • Utilize your own recovery experience to teach and provide an example of the value of recovery.
  • Foster positive relationships with support resources and model effective coping techniques, self-help strategies, and efficient use of community resources and natural supports.
  • Develop and implement educational, support, and affiliation groups based on individual needs and preferences.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year cumulative experience in active recovery and receipt of community mental health services for a disorder with onset during adolescent years.
  • Spanish-speaking a plus.
