Position Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical and plumbing systems for buildings, as well as supervising the performance of mechanical designers, draftsmen, and assistants as needed for assigned projects. This role may also involve strategic business development initiatives.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of 8 years of experience as a licensed professional (PE), with a proven track record in conducting field investigations, performing submittal reviews, and collaborating with other disciplines to produce cohesive construction documents.
Expertise in relevant codes and standards such as ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 181.1, ASHRAE 170, ASHRAE 62.1, NFPA 90A, and International Building Codes is essential.
The Mechanical Engineer will also play a key role in mentoring and guiding designers, participating in client review meetings, and documenting existing conditions.
Technical Skills Required:
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Trane Trace, Masterworks, SpecsIntact, Costworks, RSMeans Online, and MS Office Suite.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program, NCEES Registration, PE License, and preferred certifications such as Certified Plumbing Designer, Certified Energy Manager, LEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability metrics, as well as Healthcare Facility Design Professional Certification and High-Performance Building Design Professional Certification.
Travel Requirements:
Up to 20% travel may be necessary based on project needs.
