Job Summary

The Alabama Department of Education is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will provide support to the instructional program within assigned Pre-Kindergarten classrooms, working closely with teachers to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing the instructional program and lesson plans, adapting activities to reinforce classroom goals and objectives.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students, helping them with lesson assignments and promoting learning concepts.
  • Monitor classroom, library, and playground activities to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Enter student data, attendance, and other data entry programs using Teaching Strategies GOLD.
  • Perform routine record keeping and reports, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data and information.
Requirements
  • A two-year college degree or 48 college semester hours, with nine hours of early childhood education coursework included.
  • Experience working with Pre-School age children is preferred.
  • Ability to carry out tasks requiring moderate physical exertion.
  • Background clearance through FBI and ABI processes.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
