Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Paraeducator in the Exceptional Education Support department at Shelby County Schools. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a self-contained classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs in a self-contained classroom environment.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment.
  • Help students with daily living skills, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
