Job Summary:The Senior Care Specialist will provide clinical leadership support to our communities, ensuring the highest level of care for our residents. This role will involve providing temporary coverage for the implementation, delivery, and coordination of resident clinical services, as well as supervising nursing department team members.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical leadership support to communities, ensuring compliance with state regulations and best practices.
- Supervise nursing department team members, including interviewing, hiring, and training.
- Assist in onboarding and training new Wellness Directors.
- Perform timely and accurate resident assessments, communicating changes to the Executive Director for billing purposes.
- Provide oversight of medication management, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
- Communicate effectively with families, promoting good relationships and keeping them informed about resident conditions and community events.
- Participate in tours and discussions with potential residents and their families, highlighting clinical needs and services.
- Assess potential residents for eligibility for Assisted Living.
- Develop and implement staff appreciation programs, recognition of excellent performance, and retention strategies.
- Provide on-call backup to communities when not on duty.
- Current RN licensure with a minimum of 1 year of experience in senior housing and/or geriatric nursing.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Director of Nursing or Wellness Director, with a demonstrated success in leading nursing teams to meet successful resident outcomes.
- Ability to travel to various communities within the assigned market.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, with effective communication skills.
- Ability to be on call and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
