Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and registered nurses in providing technical care to patients, including phlebotomy, patient transportation, and vital sign monitoring.
- Document patient information and procedures, and promptly communicate observations and concerns to the registered nurse.
- Process patient charges and related procedures through the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians to facilitate patient care and coordinate communications.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to department safety policies and standard precautions.
- Monitor equipment and troubleshoot minor problems, arranging repair of major malfunctions as needed.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and lifting up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist.
- Nurse Aide in good standing, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic license, or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High School Graduate.
- Typically requires 1 year of experience.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during the work shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist, and carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 pounds of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present.
