About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Utility Foreman to join our team at Colas Inc. in St. Augustine, FL. As a key member of our construction projects, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day utility operations, including supervising various phases of utility installation, managing vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Utility Operations Management: Supervise the installation of storm drainage, water, and sewer utilities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Project Planning and Coordination: Plan, organize, and coordinate daily activities and work assignments for your team, ensuring efficient use of resources and equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Management: Arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment, including keeping equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Instruct and train employees, ensuring the safety of workers and promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project facts, events, and conditions, and track and report daily work hours, equipment utilization, and quantities of work performed.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Storm, Water, and/or Sewer Utilities, with 1-2 years of foreman experience preferred.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage people, equipment, and materials in a safe, efficient, and ethical manner, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of traffic control standards, ability to operate equipment such as excavators, loaders, and rollers, and experience using computers, tablets, and applications related to email and timekeeping.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to climb, withstand vibration, and use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions, with excellent vision and hearing.
Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level is usually loud, and employees must be able to work safely and follow company policies and procedures.
