Job Summary

This is a senior leadership position within the Human Resources department, reporting directly to the Vice President and CHRO. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing system-wide initiatives and strategies that support the management of multiple core functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide integrative leadership and direction in the management of multiple core functions, including day-to-day oversight or indirect oversight of human resources services and various large-scale initiatives.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of assigned HR directors and managers and their respective units, management, professional, and support staff.
  • Develop and implement employment strategies designed to minimize workplace disputes and foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop short- and long-range organizational goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and/or automate processes, procedures, organizational systems, HR services, customer experience, and data management.
  • Collaborate with HR and other key stakeholders to develop and implement effective programs that align the HR goals and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively present data to leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in human resources applications.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification(s) in Human Resources and/or Compensation.
  • Experience in Higher Education.
  • Experience in Health Care.
  • Experience with Service Contract Act Administration (SCA).
  • Knowledge of grant and government contracts.
  • Experience developing and implementing compensation programs.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with varied Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
Working Conditions
  • Sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Standard Office Environment.
  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
  • Requires contact with other departments and University officials.
