At Covenant Health, we are committed to providing exceptional cancer care to our patients in Tennessee. As an Oncology Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive treatment plans to hematology-oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly specialized APRN with expertise in oncology to join our team at Thompson Oncology Group. The ideal candidate will have experience in triaging telephone calls, performing evaluations, and treating acute patient problems. You will work closely with physicians and other medical specialties to provide holistic patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Triage telephone calls from patients, physicians, hospitals, and home health agencies requiring medical intervention.
  • Perform evaluation and treatment of acute patient problems, including oncologic emergencies, chemotherapy-related side effects, and complications from cancer diagnoses.
  • Consult with physicians and other medical specialties as necessary and adjust processes accordingly.
  • Perform history, physical examination, analyze data for diagnosis, initiate plans of care for inpatient and office consults, and follow previously established plans of care.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have certification by the American Nurses Association or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult, Family, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. You should also meet State of Tennessee requirements as a Nurse Practitioner and have certification in Oncology by the Oncology Nurses Society.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
