Oncology Pre-Certification Professional Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Oncology Pre-Certification Professional to join our team at US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care by assisting with obtaining prior authorization from various insurance carriers for ordered medications and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Utilize expertise to obtain authorization for patient treatments and address potential barriers that may prevent authorization.
• Collaborate with our providers to ensure seamless communication and efficient patient care.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, clinical staff, and payers through respectful communication and thorough listening skills.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, management, and other clinical staff regarding restrictions, special requirements, and payor issues related to specific insurance plans.
• Maintain a patient-focused mindset to research alternative solutions for obtaining authorizations and recognize trends with specific treatments and payors.

Qualifications

We require a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate's degree in a business-related field preferred. Prior experience as a medical assistant or LPN is an advantage. Your proficiency in electronic health records, payor portals, and Microsoft Office is essential. A minimum of one year of direct experience in a similar position is required to provide the necessary background for this role.

Minimum Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent, associate's degree in Healthcare, LPN state license and registration preferred, minimum two (2) years medical insurance verification and authorization required, billing and coding experience preferred.
