Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling patient appointments and managing patient flow
  • Answering incoming calls and checking voice messages regularly
  • Checking patients in and out, monitoring patient flow, and performing urine drug screens
  • Assisting with patient evaluations, taking vitals, and calling in patient medication as directed by the physician
  • Inputting accurate patient information into the electronic health record and sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies
  • Performing daily financial summaries and balancing payments received, as well as responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits
  • Reviewing the Prescription Monitoring Database and providing education and resource information regarding medication
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assisting preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (or similar type role); phlebotomy and lab experience preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification
