Position Summary and Requirements
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Procedure Prep/Recovery unit, your responsibilities will include providing nursing care and support for adult and geriatric patients with various health conditions. Key duties involve:
- Conducting and documenting patient assessments upon admission.
- Reassessing and recording changes in patient conditions.
- Administering medications and monitoring patient responses.
- Overseeing patient status before, during, and after procedures.
- Communicating any significant patient changes to the physician.
- Managing patients experiencing critical dysrhythmias or hemodynamic changes as per physician orders.
- Explaining procedures to patients and ensuring their understanding.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David's Healthcare policy.
