Veterinary Hospital Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Hospital Aid/Technician Assistant to join our team at Urban Pet Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various tasks, including restraining pets, setting up and cleaning equipment, and overseeing processes.
- Provide basic technical assistance, such as checking doses and parameters, and assisting with appointments.
- Learn to draw up and administer vaccines, help with blood collection and IV catheter placement, and clean and maintain the facility.
- Assist with surgeries and other medical procedures, and take x-rays as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under strict supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, and work in a high-pressure environment.
- Good time-management skills and ability to work independently.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential, as we are looking for long-term employees.
- Multi-tasking and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn and grow with our team.
- Ability to lift 50lbs + and work comfortably with cats and dogs.
- Passion for animal care and well-being, and good communication skills.
Urban Pet Hospital is a full-service animal clinic in San Francisco, providing wellness and preventative care appointments, urgent care, and emergencies. We are a 4-doctor practice that regularly performs routine procedures and surgeries, as well as dental cleanings and specialty surgeries.
