Seasonal Intermediate Care Registered Nurse Position

About the Opportunity

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Seasonal Intermediate Care Registered Nurse to join our team. As a critical care registered nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Intermediate Care Unit. This is a seasonal opportunity that requires a minimum of 72 hours per pay period and four weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate the care delegated to non-licensed personnel on the team.
  • Administer medications, complete treatments, and provide patient education on care and treatments.
  • Review new physician orders, ensure accurate documentation, and notify other departments as necessary.
  • Provide accurate and relevant patient information reports to the Nurse Leader and on-coming shift to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Experience in an acute care setting, preferably in an adult intensive care unit (ICU) or adult intermediate care unit (IMC)
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License; Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification and Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred
