Job Summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Seasonal Obstetrics Emergency Department Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Emergency Department, you will provide patient-centered care for all assigned patients, conducting initial and ongoing assessments, developing individualized care plans, and facilitating discharge planning and teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Complete admission interviews and document patient assessments
  • Identify changes in patient condition and report to physicians or charge nurses
  • Assess and document patient educational needs and instructions
  • Provide psychological and social support to patients and families
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning
  • Accurately administer and document medications
  • Keep physicians and/or Clinical Nurse Coordinators aware of significant patient information
  • Continuously evaluate and modify care plans as needed

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
