Primary Duties

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of ice machines, refrigeration systems, and air handling units, alongside other general maintenance tasks. This role aligns with the operational standards of Shaner Hotels and its affiliated brands. The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation and a commitment to enhancing the guest experience. A solid background in commercial refrigeration, knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units is essential. Basic familiarity with general maintenance practices is also required. This is a full-time position that includes benefits, with potential evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of experience, preferably in a hotel environment; experience with franchised hotels is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment essential for building operations, including proper chemical handling and disposal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with hotel staff and provide timely solutions to issues.
  • Capability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
