Position Overview:
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation of journal entries and conducting comprehensive financial analyses for various legal entities, including home office, intercompany, joint ventures, and equity transactions throughout the organization. This role involves maintaining the chart of accounts and general ledger systems, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and preparing detailed financial and statistical reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and prepare intercompany transactions for a diverse range of legal entities, including owned and joint venture relationships. Generate invoices and compile necessary documentation for third-party investors.
- Input and prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation for various accounting transactions, including home office, intercompany, joint ventures, and reserves.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of the general ledger and maintain supporting documentation for assigned accounts.
- Provide accounting oversight for campuses involved in specific programs, preparing journal entries, analyzing financial statement trends, and coordinating with external entities for reporting and audit requirements.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of the chart of accounts and general ledger system for organizational updates.
- Generate and distribute monthly financial and statistical reports to management and department leaders, coordinating periodic financial reviews.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and assist management in interpreting and analyzing financial data.
- Review financial statements to ensure proper accounting treatment of revenue and expense items.
- Consult with company personnel on various accounting-related matters.
- Provide training on accounting systems as needed.
- Prepare audit schedules and other necessary reports for external auditors.
- Exceed expectations of excellence in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution is required.
Experience:
Five to seven years of financial or accounting experience, with a focus on budgeting. Experience in Medicaid/Medicare is preferred but not mandatory. Background in healthcare, senior living, or long-term care environments is advantageous. Familiarity with Oracle Fusion, SmartView, or similar general ledger software is preferred. Proficient computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite, are essential.
