Job Title: Child Life Supervisor

As a Child Life Supervisor, you will play a vital role in providing clinical coverage and support to the Child Life Department. This position requires a strong understanding of pediatric patient care and the ability to lead a team of Child Life Specialists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure clinical coverage and support staff to meet patient and family needs.
  • Monitor PTO, Kronos, Attendance, and daily coverage to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Communicate with the Child Life Team, Patient and Family Centered Care Manager, and individual pediatric units to coordinate coverage.
  • Meet with team members as needed to discuss coverage and patient care needs.
  • Collaborate with the Patient and Family Centered Care Manager and Family Amenities Coordinator to coordinate events and ensure financial stewardship.
  • Evaluate team efficiency and maintain statistics on pediatric patients served.
  • Provide clinical care and support daily operations to ensure adequate child life coverage.
  • Under the supervision of the Patient and Family Centered Care Manager, serve as a team lead and clinical resource to advance the clinical skills of the Child Life Team.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational workgroups to ensure Child Life Services are an integral part of patient care teams.
  • Provide guidance to the Patient and Family Centered Care Manager to ensure adequate child life coverage in alignment with budget and staffing guidelines.
  • Partner with the Patient and Family Centered Care Manager to provide ongoing evaluation of the Child Life Program.
  • Collaborate with Volunteer Services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required in Child Life or Child Development related field.
  • Completion of minimum of 480 hour Child Life Internship required.
  • Must have 3 years inpatient experience as a Child Life Specialist.
  • Prefer 2 years demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Child Life Professional Certification required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required.
Physical Demands:

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20-50lbs. May be exposed to noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
