POSITION SUMMARY:
The Advanced CT Technologist performs complex medical imaging exams at a technical level that does not require direct supervision over technical detail. This position requires advanced knowledge of medical imaging and skill in cross-sectional anatomy. Must have full knowledge of CT exams and interventional procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; graduate of an ARRT approved Radiological Technology School program is required, along with registration and certification with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and licensure. Advanced certification in Computerized Tomography is expected within one year of hire. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure patient's clinical data matches the type of exam ordered
Assist Radiologist in interventional procedures
Screen female patients of childbearing age for pregnancy possibility
Demonstrate skill in IV insertion
Independently run schedule while remaining sensitive to patient care and co-worker needs
Process CT exams during off-shift hours
Choose correct protocols for patients based on age and size
Accurately complete patient procedure documentation
Perform quality assurance in accordance with guidelines
Troubleshoot electronic equipment
Respond on a call basis to perform procedures
