Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography (CT) scans and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for CT scans, explaining the procedure in a clear and concise manner
  • Position patients on the examination table for optimal testing
  • Set up equipment to administer the proper procedure in a timely fashion
  • Perform CT scans as prescribed by the ordering physician
  • Calculate and enter the number of scans to be obtained
  • Obtain images of the anatomical area of interest
  • Ensure proper views and images have been obtained and proper techniques have been employed
  • Collect all pertinent data and calculations for physician interpretation
  • Monitor patient condition by directly observing the patient during the examination
  • Acknowledge and review images in the computer system
  • Ensure accuracy of all patient data
  • Process imaging and print CDs, as required
  • Gather previous related patient reports, as required
  • Perform minor repairs and frequent calibration checks and adjusts equipment, as required
  • Adhere to Infection Control guidelines in the performance of duties
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and accessories
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (R.T.)
  • Prior radiology technology experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively
