We are seeking a skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures and ensuring proper information is obtained for physician diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examination and explain procedures in layman terms to relieve anxiety.
- Screen patients according to protocol and obtain consent for procedures when necessary.
- Position patients on examination tables for optimal testing procedures and conditions.
- Set up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
- Perform MRI procedures as prescribed by ordering physicians.
- Obtain images of anatomical areas of interest at appropriate slice thickness and pulse sequence.
- Ensure proper views and images have been obtained and proper techniques have been employed.
- Collect all pertinent data and calculations for physician interpretation.
- Monitor patient condition by directly observing patients during examination and recognizing and reporting abnormal changes.
- Acknowledge and review images in computer systems and ensure accuracy of all patient data.
- Process imaging and print CDs as required.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Prior MRI experience preferred.
