Salary: $16 - $20 per hour based on prior experience.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Container, Chassis and Trailer Mechanic to join our team at the CSX Philadelphia, PA Railroad Terminal. This is a full-time permanent position with no prior experience required, but applicants must have prior mechanical knowledge and experience. We will provide training for successful candidates.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and analyzing malfunctions, completing repairs and efficiently rebuilding chassis & trailers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Daily inspection of all trailers and chassis to ensure equipment meets safety standards under Federal Highway Administration standards.
  • Dismantling, repairing and reassembling landing gears, wheel axles, and brakes, including welding of broken parts.
  • Ensuring the electrical system runs efficiently.
  • Accurately and legibly completing work orders.
  • Completing all work orders in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Wearing Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when applicable.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements (background, drug test, and Physical Strength test).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
