Senior Rail Vehicle Electronics Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Rail Vehicle Electronics Engineer to join our team at SEPTA. As a Senior Rail Vehicle Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all rail vehicle electronic printed circuit boards and subsystems assigned to the Woodland Electronic Repair Shop.
Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is around $85,000, based on an hourly rate of $38.40 with a potential increase to $42.67 after one year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing rail vehicle electronic printed circuit boards and subsystems.
- Providing technical support to all rail locations and assisting SEPTA's engineering department with electrical/electronic projects.
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating analog, digital, and micro-processor controlled printed circuit boards down to component level.
- Interpreting electrical, electronic, and mechanical schematics.
- Removing and inserting semiconductor devices using soldering/de-soldering equipment.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of electronic technical school, associate degree in electronics, or military electronics-technical training.
- A valid driver's license.
- Special knowledge and training in handling static sensitive devices, interpreting electrical/electronic/software/mechanical schematics, and using soldering/de-soldering equipment.
- The ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of rail vehicle propulsion systems.
- Good hand and eye dexterity to work with extremely small electronic components.
