Job Summary:

The Peer Support Specialist will work collaboratively with staff to facilitate client recovery, promote pro-social community activities, and provide individualized guidance and support. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by substance use disorder.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized guidance and support to individuals seeking or in active recovery
  • Facilitate group and individual settings to promote recovery
  • Collaborate with local programs and assist participants in accessing community resources and support services
  • Advocate for participants and provide support in navigating the behavioral health system
  • Complete necessary documentation and reporting requirements
Requirements:
  • 6 months of experience as a peer support or similar work experience (preferred)
  • Minimum one year in recovery
  • Experience with navigating a behavioral health system and other community support programs is preferred
  • Valid driver's license may be required for Peer Support Specialists providing transportation to clients
  • Must have a valid level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card upon applying
  • Peer support certification
Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Required)
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality support and services to individuals and families affected by substance use disorder. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with clients and staff, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
