Design and Develop Critical Spacecraft Components

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Technical Designer II, you'll play a crucial role in designing and developing critical spacecraft components, ensuring the safety and reliability of our systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain component and assembly product definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs, and resolving design discrepancies.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles to optimize component and assembly design.
  • Implement engineering and manufacturing best practices to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule, and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Responsible Engineers, Development/Test Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers, to ensure seamless integration of components and assemblies.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of relevant design and drafting experience of structural parts, precision components, and subsystems using Creo/Wildfire/Pro-Engineer.
  • Proficient in Windchill and Creo View.
  • Strong work ethic, high attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace materials and treatments.
  • Proficient with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with design in disciplines such as propulsion, aircraft, spacecraft, oil & gas, automotive, naval, nuclear, or heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in Creo Piping.
  • Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
