About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Harness Design Engineer II, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing electrical harnesses for our lunar lander vehicles. Your expertise will help ensure the safe and efficient transportation of crew and cargo to the lunar surface.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical harness designs for power distribution, RF, communication, and high-speed data signals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate harness designs with vehicle systems
  • Design and develop harness support brackets and installation procedures
  • Conduct wire derating analysis and ensure compliance with applicable standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, SAE AS50881)
  • Provide technical guidance and support to hardware installation teams
  • Maintain and report on activity schedules and technical status
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years' experience in electrical harness design and development
  • Proficiency in Creo and Zuken software (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of EMI/RFI principles and their application to harness shielding
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes
  • Proficiency in other CAD software (Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing, Zuken, or Mentor Graphics)
