Job Overview

The Housekeeping Team Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating housekeeping operations within designated areas. This position involves evaluating Guest Rooms to ensure they meet cleanliness standards, assisting Room Attendants as necessary, and providing essential training. The Team Leader will also assume the responsibilities of the Housekeeping Manager during their absence.

Key Qualifications

+ A minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the hospitality industry or a similar field is required.

+ A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

+ Coursework in a related discipline is advantageous.

+ Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

+ Approach all interactions with guests and team members in a welcoming and service-oriented manner.

+ Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards, adapting to the hotel’s scheduling needs.

+ Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance, including wearing the appropriate uniform and name tag while on duty.

+ Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.

+ Conduct daily inspections of staff performance within assigned areas to ensure standards and productivity are consistently met.

+ In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager, inspect all VIP rooms and communicate their status to the Front Office.

+ Oversee the orderly closing of floors at the end of shifts, ensuring Room Attendants' carts are clean and stocked with linens.

+ Ensure that daily assignment records are completed, signed, and submitted to the Housekeeping Office punctually.

+ Maintain the key control system effectively.

+ Supervise all Laundry and Housekeeping staff, holding them accountable for their performance.

+ Document and report issues related to poor performance, misconduct, excessive absenteeism, tardiness, and inappropriate attire.

+ Manage 'Lost and Found' items in accordance with established standards.

+ Familiarize oneself with all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and House Rules.

+ Ensure that all associates are consistently attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow associates.

+ Monitor the overall appearance, cleanliness, and organization of staff areas.

+ Carry an active communication device to maintain contact with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift.

+ Oversee the daily distribution of tasks, ensuring each Room Attendant and House Attendant has a clear work assignment.

+ Monitor the cleanliness and organization of Room Attendants' carts, linen closets, and other storage areas.

+ Provide daily updates on the status of out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department's supervision to the Guest Services Manager.

+ Initiate and follow up on work orders for repairs and maintenance related to doors, plumbing, heating/air conditioning, electrical systems, furniture, carpets, and drapes.

+ Ensure proper training and development of Room Attendants.

+ Motivate, coach, and counsel staff as needed.

+ Collect all keys and assignment sheets at the end of each shift.

+ Attend meetings as required by management.

+ Ensure the completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects on a biannual basis.

+ Monitor all VIP guests and special requests.

+ Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
