The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our leadership team as the VP of Materials Strategy & Operations. This individual will be responsible for driving the global execution and strategy of the materials we provide to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a multi-year strategy to expand the capabilities and product offerings Formlabs can supply to customers.
- Lead the operations of all materials-related production sites, partners, and supply chains.
- Build a technology roadmap to drive efficiencies and capabilities into the supply chain.
- Expand our global footprint, partnerships, and capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional organizations responsible for material R&D investments and hardware product requirements to support new material capabilities and go-to-market strategies.
- Propose initiatives that grow revenue and improve margin while unlocking new market opportunities through cost structures and chemistry.
Requirements
- An MBA or equivalent experience.
- A background in chemistry.
- Experience driving operational excellence in a chemical supply chain.
- Run a global, multi-site manufacturing network.
- Developed strong vendor relationships and negotiated contract terms effectively.
- Developed new manufacturing methods/procedures.
- Developed and executed a multi-year strategy to evolve material or manufacturing capabilities.
Bonus Points
- If your material manufacturing experience is with powders or resin polymers.
- If you have insourced or outsourced chemical production capabilities.
- If you possess familiarity with the 3D printing market.
- If you have led global teams.
- If you have been a leader in a high-growth 3D printing or chemical company.
