General Overview
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager or Supervisor, the Customer Service Specialist I is tasked with a variety of responsibilities within the Customer Service Department. These responsibilities encompass addressing customer inquiries, overseeing collections, data entry, correspondence, and additional duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding accounts receivable management services
- Engage with customers regarding overdue payments, billing discrepancies, and disputes
- Utilize various online tools to provide excellent service
- Communicate via phone and email to assist customers in resolving billing concerns
- Notify management of significant changes or issues in payment history
- Process payments through digital applications
- Assist in resolving returned check cases in accordance with departmental protocols
- Proactively engage with customers by providing pertinent information
- Manage dispute resolution through written communication
- Maintain precise transaction records
- Keep detailed logs of correspondence with clients and customers
- Investigate transactional discrepancies and ensure accurate fund allocation
- Recommend transaction refunds or chargebacks as per departmental procedures
- Perform additional assigned tasks as required
Work Environment
- Generally favorable work conditions
- Regular monitoring for accuracy may lead to eyestrain
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in phone-based customer service is advantageous

- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comprehensive understanding of products, services, and operational processes
- Familiarity with proprietary software

- Strong problem-solving abilities
