Immediate Opening - Transportation Operations Coordinator

Transdev Services, Inc. is in search of a Transportation Operations Coordinator to manage its transportation services effectively. The Transportation Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating bus trip requests through the electronic systems, phone calls, and emails. This position also involves planning routes, allocating Driver assignments, and communicating trip specifics to Drivers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processes bus trip requests via the school district's electronic platform, email, and phone.
  • Inputs bus trips into the company’s scheduling system.
  • Utilizes the electronic portal for data entry.
  • Plans routes, assigns Driver coverage, and relays trip information to Drivers.
  • Communicates bus trip details to Dispatchers.
  • Coordinates Dispatcher coverage for weekend charters and special events.
  • Provides backup support for Dispatchers as needed.
  • Assigns after-school transportation services when required.
  • Generates reports related to bus trips as necessary.
  • Handles payroll tasks associated with charter and field trips.
  • Performs various administrative duties, including correspondence, report generation, and document management.
  • Promotes adherence to company policies and the Driver's Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as assigned.
Required Education and Certifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years in office coordination or transportation operations.
  • Experience in dispatching is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
  • Dispatching experience is advantageous.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional telephone etiquette.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently.
  • Team-oriented mindset while also capable of working autonomously.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
