Aquatics Coordinator

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Community Programs, the Aquatics Coordinator provides leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of the aquatic facility located at DotHouse Health including supervision and training of the lifeguards, high quality customer service, adhering to pool regulatory standards, planning and implementing aquatics programs including swim instruction at all levels, wellness, water safety and lifeguard instruction. The coordinator will maintain and increase revenue generation through various programs including pool rentals and membership.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations of the aquatic facility located at DotHouse Health
• Provides supervision and training for the lifeguards
• Develops and manages the pool regulatory process ensuring pool regulatory standards are met
• Planning and implementing aquatics programs including swim instruction at all levels, wellness, water safety and lifeguard instruction
• Provides quality customer service to pool patrons
• Develops a fee schedule for aquatics activities and manage the collection process
• Maintains and increases revenue generation through pool rentals and pool memberships
• Implements ETO in aquatic programming
• Provides an array of swimming instructions to the community including lifeguard certification, aqua size and beginner; intermediate and advance swim lessons for children and adults

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a Water Safety Certification for teaching swimming lessons and lifeguard certification.
• Must be CPO Certified
• Current certification in First Aid and CPR is required
• At least three years’ experience supervising lifeguards and/or water safety instructors, in addition to verifiable experience in program management.
