DBEDC is a prominent Community Development Corporation (CDC) and a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Established in 1979, our mission is to foster a robust, vibrant, and diverse community in Boston's North Dorchester and Roxbury neighborhoods. We focus on developing, preserving, and maintaining affordable housing options, providing capital and coaching to small businesses, and preparing job seekers for sustainable employment opportunities. As one of Boston's most established community development organizations, we operate with an annual budget of approximately $11 million and a dedicated team of 30 professionals.

Role Summary
DBEDC is in search of a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative Director of Operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Operations plays a crucial role in the senior leadership team. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency, and providing necessary resources for team success while achieving organizational goals. The Director will manage the operational policies and infrastructure, as well as oversee data evaluation and communication functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee policies, systems, resources, compliance, and training to ensure effective office administration, security, and technology support.
    • Develop and implement operational systems and metrics to track progress and identify challenges in key initiatives.
    • Collaborate with department heads and external partners to inform operational decisions and strategic objectives.
    • Design strategies to enhance organizational infrastructure and implement process improvements for efficiency.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and legal regulations.
    • Work closely with the Director of People and Culture to foster an inclusive and productive work environment.
    • Manage outsourced services and enterprise software, ensuring optimal performance and user support.
    • Oversee office administration, including safety and accessibility for staff and events.
    • Act as the primary liaison with building management for maintenance and operational efficiency.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing organizational processes and technology integration.
    • Develop and manage the annual operations work plan and budget.
    • Coordinate with the Finance Team on financial operations.
  • Leadership and Development:
    • Partner with the CEO to establish operational goals for the organization.
    • Lead and develop the Operations Team, including goal setting and performance evaluations.
    • Provide constructive feedback to team members to support their professional growth.
    • Contribute to organizational goals through participation in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to working in an organization dedicated to racial equity and serving a diverse community.
  • Minimum of 4 years in a management role with experience leading and developing professionals.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanish, Cape Verdean Kriolu, or Haitian Creole.
  • Experience with organization-wide software implementation.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, generous vacation and sick leave, and a flexible work environment. DBEDC is committed to pay equity and transparency in compensation.
