Director of Career Training Services

Job Summary:
As a Career Training Services Director at Job Corps, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our programs. You will oversee the development and implementation of career training services, ensuring that our students receive the best possible education and training to succeed in their chosen fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance and Regulatory Management: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines, including DOL, PRH, FAR, and OSHA.
- Communication and Directive Implementation: Oversee the communication and implementation of directives from DOL/Equus, ensuring that all departments are informed and aligned.
- Audit and Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits to ensure that all departments are following DOL/Equus directives and that fiscal expenditures are in line with Equus, FAR, and DOL guidelines.
- Departmental Guidance and Oversight: Provide guidance and oversight to areas of concern, ensuring that all departments are meeting their responsibilities.
- Center Participation and Community Involvement: Oversee center participation on WIA Boards and Youth Councils, ensuring that our programs are aligned with community needs and goals.
- Industrial Advisory Committee and Vocational Offerings: Ensure that an Industrial Advisory Committee is in place and assisting the center with recommendations on vocational offerings and training programs.
- Community Directed Activities and Work-Based Learning: Ensure that community directed activities and work-based learning are integrated into our programs, providing students with real-world experience and skills.
- Career Development Services Systems Plan: Oversee the full implementation of the Career Development Services Systems plan, ensuring that our programs are aligned with industry needs and goals.
- Staff Development and Training: Develop and train staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to support student success.
- Personnel Management: Assess personnel needs and work with the Human Resources department to screen and interview potential staff, recommend promotions, transfers, and merit evaluations, and conduct performance appraisals.
- Accountability and Safety: Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property, adhering to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Conducive Environment: Foster and sustain a conducive environment at the center, ensuring that it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, providing a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field.
- Experience: Eight years of related experience, with three to five years of supervisory experience. Job Corps experience preferred.
- Skills: Experience working with diverse youth, valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
