About Our Organization:

We are a nonprofit, community-based health center dedicated to delivering comprehensive healthcare services to underserved populations. Our extensive range of services includes oral health, psychiatry, primary care, obstetrics, and pediatrics.

Mission Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our health center. This encompasses strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. The CFO will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team, board of directors, and department heads to maintain the health center's financial stability and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy to support the organization's mission, growth, and long-term viability. Oversee the overall financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Manage the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports to the executive team, board of directors, and stakeholders. Provide detailed analysis to inform decision-making and ensure financial stability.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Collaborate with department heads to develop the annual budget. Monitor performance against the budget and recommend adjustments as needed to meet organizational goals.
  • Cash Flow and Investment Management: Ensure the health center maintains healthy cash flow and manages financial risks. Oversee investments and ensure sufficient liquidity to support operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including federal, state, and local guidelines. Oversee audits and financial reporting for grant management and regulatory bodies.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across departments to support the organization's mission.
  • Grant Management: Oversee the financial aspects of grants and contracts, ensuring proper allocation, reporting, and compliance with funders' requirements.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and streamline processes. Drive initiatives that support cost-effective, high-quality care across all service lines.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • At least 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (CFO or similar) in a nonprofit or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with managed care plans is required.
  • Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of nonprofit financial management, including grant and funding compliance, and healthcare reimbursement systems.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and managing complex financial systems in a multi-service healthcare environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, government funding, and nonprofit accounting standards (FASB).
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial software, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation: $220k - $250k per annum

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
