Early Childhood Educator in a Reggio-Inspired Environment

Norwich, Vermont, United States Treehouse Children's School Full time
Position Overview

About Us
The Treehouse Children's School is a nurturing and imaginative Reggio-inspired childcare community that celebrates the essence of childhood. We honor the diverse ways children express themselves and their innate curiosity from the very beginning of life.

Our focus is on building meaningful relationships and embracing the 'hundred languages of children,' which represent the myriad creative ways children engage with the world around them.

We are currently seeking a dedicated educator to enhance our vibrant nursery team. Our nursery program caters to children aged four to 24 months, and we are eager to welcome an individual who shares our passion for early childhood education.

Role Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with a co-teacher and support staff during an 8-hour shift. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing engaging 'provocations' that reflect both children's interests and your own.
  • Collaborating with our music and art educators, as well as our Reggio Coach, to facilitate enriching creative experiences.
  • Reflecting on children's learning journeys with colleagues to plan future educational steps and create insightful documentation for parents and the school community.

Qualifications
We are excited to find someone who is genuinely passionate about early childhood education. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A college degree and at least one year of relevant teaching experience.
  • A strong affinity for working with infants and a commitment to collaborative reflection on children's development.

Preferred Skills
While not mandatory, experience with infants and an understanding of their developmental needs are highly valued. We also appreciate familiarity with NAEYC standards, VT Early Learning standards, and the Reggio Emilia philosophy. If you are not yet familiar, a willingness to engage in training on Reggio-inspired practices is essential.

Compensation and Benefits
The Treehouse Children's School offers a competitive salary based on education and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid sick and personal days.
  • Significant tuition discounts for staff with children enrolled.
  • Discretionary classroom budgets and opportunities for ongoing professional development.
  • On-site coaching in Reggio-inspired methodologies.

We are committed to fostering a supportive and engaging community for both our educators and the families we serve.
