Job Summary

United Community & Family Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in promoting positive early childhood mental health and providing expert guidance to early childcare providers, educators, and families.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with early childcare staff to identify, assess, and provide interventions for young children at risk of suspension and/or expulsion from childcare or early education programs.
Serve as a resource on early childhood development, emphasizing emotional and behavioral health, and the importance of relationships between the child and parent/guardian.
Provide coaching to early childhood providers in a culturally responsive manner.
Assist early childhood staff with referrals for identified children and families who require specialized services.
Participate in training modules, regular statewide meetings, and supervisory observation.
Act as a liaison between families, early childhood providers, and other community agencies, integrating prevention and early intervention on a systems level.
Offer public education on early childhood topics through community presentations.
Ensure timely completion of required documentation, including data and reports.

Requirements

Master's degree in a Human Services field (psychology, social work, marriage, and family counseling).
CT state license required or eligibility.
Familiarity with early childhood care and education systems and programs.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
Valid CT driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Vaccination against COVID-19 required for all employees.
