Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director, Public Affairs and Administration to lead our public affairs initiatives and drive strategic growth for Blue Cross Blue Shield companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to advance organizational priorities and drive federal policy solutions that support Blue business objectives.
  • Lead and manage consultant teams to implement and succeed in public affairs campaigns.
  • Direct campaign educational material, including messaging, advertising, op/eds, emails, and sign-on letters to Members of Congress.
  • Build and maintain external relationships with influential leaders, external coalitions, and allies.
  • Collaborate with Policy & Advocacy leadership to surface opportunities, make strategic recommendations, and implement action plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, business, communications, marketing, or related field. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 16 years of experience required.
  • Masters Degree, Preferred
  • At least 12 years of work experience in politics, campaigns, coalitions, business, or organizational leadership.
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation, and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Understanding of leading health policy/regulatory issues.
  • Strong experience in project and program management, including goal setting, strategic planning, implementation, and tracking.
  • Ability to effectively manage team members and multiple projects.
