POSITION SUMMARY:
This pivotal role involves the on-site testing and upkeep of EV charging stations. Responsibilities include ensuring site safety, performing electrical system maintenance and repairs, compiling site field reports, and executing other tasks necessary to maintain and operate the site in accordance with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate must be capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision and be prepared to operate in various field conditions.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on a diverse range of equipment, from Level 2 EV chargers to DC Fast Chargers.
  • Assess interoperability of EV chargers (Level 2 and 3 DC Fast Chargers) with vehicles and backend systems. Generate detailed test reports and communicate effectively with relevant parties regarding issues and necessary corrective measures.
  • Execute acceptance testing for firmware and software updates. Produce test reports and provide training on new features and product launches.
  • Perform equipment testing, including insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imaging, torque assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Diagnose system performance issues and identify ground faults.
  • Review site manuals and schematics to ensure proper service and maintenance of equipment.
  • Engage in fieldwork, encompassing electrical and mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance of site equipment, field reporting, work order completion, and additional tasks as required.
  • Document all site issues in the work order system and ensure timely resolution.
  • Work independently while adhering to deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in servicing electrical power equipment within the commercial or utility energy sectors, or formal electrical training.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, solar power systems, or related power electronics is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for generating, tracking, and fulfilling site work requirements.
  • A four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues independently with a strong focus on results.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, type, and write.
  • Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool, or climb, and use fingers and hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Utilize standard office equipment such as computers, smartphones, printers, and photocopiers.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lift files and open desk drawers and filing cabinets.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt


Pay: $26 to $30 hourly

The above represents the expected hourly range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.


Schedule:
8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Work Location: In-person (office) with no hybrid or remote work options.
