Assembly Technician

BorgWarner is seeking a skilled Assembly Operator to join our team in Warren, MI or Hazel Park, MI. As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for assembling new and/or replacement parts by operating intermediate machines and equipment to assemble complete units or complex subassemblies from blueprints.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and operate production equipment independently, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any deviations or quality defects.
- Ensure compliance with production parameters and maintain equipment, work area, and facility according to 5s standards.
- Provide general support within production processes, including assembly, inspection, and quality control.
- Operate equipment to highest production and quality standards, maintaining all fluid levels and reporting malfunctions and safety issues to supervisor or maintenance.
- Maintain quality standards by following proper inspection procedures and understanding current quality and control policies.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
- Detail-oriented and consistent, with ability to work on a team and independently.
- Interest in electrical engineering processes and general experience in production processes.
- Manual skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and regulations.
- Basic shop math required (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions) and ability to learn how to read basic blueprints.
