About the Role

We are seeking a Benefits Compliance Counsel to join our team at Gallagher Benefit Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with health and welfare benefit laws and regulations.

Job Summary

This is a competitive salary position that offers a unique opportunity to work with clients across various industries. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, cafeteria plans, nondiscrimination rules, HIPAA, and other federal, legal, and regulatory issues.

Responsibilities
  • Support consultants in educating clients on changes to benefit laws, implications for their benefit plans, and necessary steps to maintain compliance.
  • Conduct compliance reviews for clients, create compliance gap analyses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide timely and accurate analyses of current legislative initiatives and regulations to producers, account managers, and clients.
  • Offer well-researched recommendations to clients on actions to take in response to changes in the legislative or regulatory environment.
  • Interpret source materials and provide guidance and advice to corporate staff and branch office staff.
  • Participate in client sales and retention efforts as part of the Sales and Consulting teams.
  • Assist producers and account managers in developing action steps to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct internal employee training on selected legislative and regulatory topics.
About You

We are looking for an experienced professional with a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, cafeteria plans, nondiscrimination rules, HIPAA, and other federal, legal, and regulatory issues is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

This role comes with a competitive salary, which we estimate to be around $90,000 per year, based on industry standards and the level of experience required. In addition to the salary, you can expect to receive a range of benefits, including medical/dental/vision plans, life and accident insurance, 401(K) and Roth options, tax-advantaged accounts, educational expense reimbursement, paid parental leave, and more.
